OUR MISSION

What you do doesn’t matter unless you know why you do it. There are so many reasons why we strive provide music education in our community. However, our mission can be summarized in three main principals:

  1. To cultivate a fun welcoming community focused on creating meaningful experiences together through the healing power of music.

  2. To revolutionize music education by using modern teaching models, modern technology, and leading by example what it means to be a modern musician.

  3. To empower new and unrealized artists by holding space and providing the tools needed to express their unique human experience.

WHO WE ARE

About-Img.png

Ostinato Music Lessons is owned and operated by instructor Kyle Chapman. At a young age Kyle gravitated towards music. He studied classical technique with private instructors throughout his high school years and began to teach private lessons at age 16. By the time he was 18, he owned a music lesson studio in his hometown of Los Banos, California. The studio was successful and filled the void of musical education in the rural town in which he grew up.

He pursued his own musical education formally and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in musical performance from San Fransisco State University. From this point, Kyle continued to play and teach professionally until the present day. With over 10 years of teaching experience, Kyle has become a seasoned professional in the art of musical education. He continues to enrich the lives of those around him through teaching students of all ages and levels of expertise. It is his personal belief that music is something for everyone. His aim as an instructor is to use education as a tool to empower the artist that lives within all of us.

Jarrett Wenzel is an accomplished multi-instrumentalist from Westampton, New Jersey. Music had interested him from a young age, but he became deeply invested when he received a drum set for his 12th birthday. He has played hundreds of shows and contributed to countless recordings since then.

Jarrett relocated to Austin, Texas in 2021. Within a year, he was teaching, playing in bands, and beginning his career drumming for dueling piano shows. He didn’t realize it at the time, but moving was the first step towards a career in music. Today, Jarrett is doing a mix of performing, teaching, session playing, and audio engineering. He enjoys the challenges that come with each aspect of his career. When asked to describe himself, he says he is a work in progress— always learning, always growing.
